Lisa Daria Kennedy
In her painting series Yet There We Are, Kennedy transforms still frames from vintage 8mm home movies into evocative paintings that celebrate fleeting moments of leisure and family life. Balancing representation with abstraction, her expressive mark-making and layered compositions invite viewers to reflect on the fluid relationship between the body, memory, and environment.
Kennedy earned a BA in Graphic Design from Roger Williams University, a BFA in Illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and an MFA in 2D from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches workshops on habitual art making through her Embrace the Practice™ program and serves as an Associate Professor of Illustration at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
