Over the past few years, I have allowed myself complete license to create the images that interest me and evolve through my process. Exploring reflective water surfaces and their surrounds of vegetation and woods, has captivated me. My paintings are my visual poems, expressing my wishes, feelings, and experiences on Cape Cod and around the South Shore where I grew.

Color is my love language. I’ve embraced bold, expressive marks. I am not concerned with an accurate representative depiction of a specific place, but strive to document my memory of a particular walk or locale. The intimacy and peace in the woods delight me.

Suzette Lebenzon has painted since her childhood in Scituate. Suzette keeps her home and studio in Wellfleet.
