Morgan Dyer

Morgan Dyer's paintings explore the fluid relationship between nature and abstraction through a distinctive process of pouring pools of pigment onto canvas. Inspired by natural phenomena such as shifting tides, puddles, and melting ice, she builds each composition through layers of flowing paint that form ribbons of color and rich texture, creating energetic surfaces that evoke movement and transformation. Her outdoor works extend this process into the landscape, allowing the earth itself to leave its mark on unstretched canvas before the pieces are reworked in the studio. Each painting invites viewers to reflect on the ever-changing rhythms of the natural world.

Dyer lives and works on Massachusetts' North Shore, where she maintains a painting studio on historic Bearskin Neck in Rockport.
