Mia Cross
Mia Cross’s multidisciplinary work explores color, the human figure, narrative, and place through painting, printmaking, sculpture, sewing, and murals. Drawing inspiration from everyday moments and the natural world, she combines the techniques of classically trained artists with the craft and playfulness of folk art. Her figurative work is semi-autobiographical, moving between her inner experiences and the world around her.
Cross earned a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from Boston University and has received the VSC Boston University Alumni Grant, Blanche Colman Grant, and Mass MoCA Match Grant. Her work has been acquired by the Danforth Museum and Simmons University for their permanent collections, and she has completed murals for organizations including the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Tiffany & Co., and Google. Cross lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island.
