Mallie Loring Pratt
Mallie Loring Pratt's paintings explore the layered experience of landscape through memory, observation, and the passage of time. Working from both direct observation and recollection, she creates compositions that reflect the emotional, historical, and sensory qualities of place, capturing subtle shifts in light, land, and season. Her off-season coastal landscapes celebrate the quiet beauty of New England's shoreline while inviting viewers to consider the ever-changing relationship between nature and ourselves. Each work serves as a record of transformation, revealing both the permanence and impermanence of the landscapes we inhabit.
Pratt's work has been exhibited widely throughout New England. She currently lives and works in Massachusetts, where she co-runs a studio collective in Ipswich, continuing to create paintings that celebrate the evolving character of the natural world.
