Gallery Services and Location
Savage Godfrey Gallery (formerly Sunne Savage Gallery) is a multi-generational woman-owned business, founded in 1975 by Sunne Savage in Boston.
We’re passionate about promoting emerging and mid-career regional artists in group exhibitions at our Norwell gallery space, and bringing them into private and corporate collections.
Our specialities include art sales, custom commissions, and collection management, including framing, conservation, and appraisals. Our clients include Amundi, Boston Children’s Hospital, Lendlease, RSM, and numerous private clients.
Each exhibition features three regional artists who draw inspiration from nature and local communities, with styles ranging from abstract to transitional, and runs for 8-12 weeks. With every show, our foremost goal is for the gallery to be a destination on the South Shore of Massachusetts for collectors, makers, designers, and art enthusiasts.

Savage Godfrey Gallery is located at 693 Main Street, Norwell, MA. The Gallery shares a building and entrance with Coastal Chic Interiors. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10 to 4 pm or by appointment.
Sunne Savage, Founder
Sunne Savage graduated from Lake Erie College in 1966. After working for the Institute of Contemporary Art, she established the Sunne Savage Gallery on Newbury Street in Boston. For the past 35 years, she has traveled nationally and internationally researching artists and orchestrating private sales of 19th and 20th-century European and American masterworks. Utilizing her wealth of industry knowledge, Ms. Savage is the Gallery’s fine art appraiser. She also curates summer exhibitions of Maine modern masters in Northeast Harbor, Maine.
Her current focus is promoting American Abstract Expressionist Robert S. Neuman’s work. Sunne and Robert met in 1977, when he first exhibited at the Sunne Savage Gallery’s Newbury Street location and were married for 36 years until his death in 2015. She completed the production of Pieces of the World in 2023, a 50-minute documentary about Neuman’s life and art.
2026 marks Neuman’s centennial year and Sunne is encouraging public collections to display his work in honor of his commitment to modern art.
Christina Godfrey, Director
Christina Godfrey graduated from Wheaton College in 2001. She revived the Gallery’s interest in corporate and contemporary art when she accepted an art relocation project with RSM, formerly known as McGladrey, and went on to curate exhibitions of emerging artists at the RSM Art Gallery for 18 years.
Christina currently co-curates the Mini Museum at Boston Children’s Hospital while also managing corporate art collections in the Boston area and curating exhibitions at Savage Godfrey Gallery’s location at 693 Main Street in Norwell, MA.
Since joining the Gallery in 2001, she has consistently turned new contacts into long-term clients through her creative and resourceful approach to project management and vast knowledge of regional artists.
The gallery’s 2024 rebranding reflects Christina Godfrey’s dedication and key role over the past 20 years.
